TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following is a copy of the terms and conditions that the ower will be asked to fill out and sign during the time of purchase.

1. Stone is a natural formation comprised of minerals. Not unlike wood, each stone has unique natural veining, pitting fissures, micro-cracks, and color variations including patterns, markings, and darker or lighter spots which are all natural characteristics of stone. Characteristics are not to be considered deficiencies or faults, nor can they be avoided in fabrication. Small samples do not necessarily reflect variations which may be present in the larger slab. I understand that the finished installed product may have natural variations as described above, and that it may not be exactly like the slab in the yard, like a provided sample, or like a product I have viewed in Granite Rock Ltd’s showroom or elsewhere.

2. The granite is sealed with an FDA compliant solvent based “Impregnator Sealer” to protect the surface and deter stains. This does not provide a glossy coating, nor does it cosmetically alter the natural surface in any way. I have looked closely at the granite and am aware that the surface is not as consistently smooth or shiny as glass to the eye or touch.

3. There is a limitation to the overall slab sizes available. Seam placement is determined by Granite Rocks Ltd. once templates have been made. The size of granite slab available, project templates and appliance configurations are all items that determine seam location, if any. I am aware that seams can not be hidden and will be visible. Patterns may not match at seams.

4. Sign-off on granite and edge profile selections should occur within 7-10 days of taking samples. Granite Rocks Ltd. does not hold specific slabs and the changing inventory may be replaced by a new stock prior to a job being fabricated. Granite colors can vary from one shipment to the next, and it is suggested that the current inventory be viewed. Granite Rocks Ltd. will not prompt contact based on receipt of new inventory. It is the responsibility of the customer to maintain contact with the builder’s site supervisor, and to contact Granite Rocks Ltd. to re-view granite one to two weeks prior to cabinet installation. I understand that re-selection may only be considered prior to templating.

5. Marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, onyx and travertine are softer, more porous stories than granite and are not recommended for kitchen applications, as excessive use and exposure to heat and colored or acidic liquids can leave unattractive stains, scars and etching, even if regularly resealed. If I select product described above for any application, I have been made aware of the characteristics and accept full responsibility for the subsequent aging of the product.

6. The edge profile generally extends beyond the cabinet walls, drawers and doors by approximately 1 ½”, commonly referred to as “the overhang”. Should there be a specific request for more/less overhang or NO OVERHANG (flush with the cabinet walls). I understand that this must be indicated on the plans submitted for quotation.

7. Granite Rocks Ltd. warranties the workmanship of counter tops for a period of one year. This warranty does not cover the natural characteristics of stone as outlined above. Granite does not have flex strength, and should never be stepped or sat upon. This warranty does not cover any structural shift or extreme pressure. Or items placed on the stone (ie. tool box) which could result in damage to the granite, or causes it the scratch, crack, or chip. Any damage resulting after proper installation of an acceptable product will be assumed to have occurred through no fault of Granite Rocks Ltd., and any resulting charges will be the responsibility of the builder, contractor or homeowner. I accept Granite Rocks Ltd. warranty.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have carefully read and fully understand all of the Terms and Conditions contained in the above and agree to be bound by them. No work will commence by Granite Rocks Ltd. without deposit or purchase order, or without signed acknowledgement on three parts: (i) Quotation, (ii) Terms and Conditions (below), (iii) Granite and Edge Profile confirmation sheet.
